Cosworth brings the latest forced induction option to the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ: the Stage 2 Power Package. The Cosworth supercharger is a positive displacement roots style supercharger which provides boost at all rpm ranges, perfect for SCCA and driving styles that require instant response. The new FR-S BRZ performance supercharger package comes complete with a new intake manifold that houses two air to water intercooler cores.
The Cosworth supercharger kit is available for purchase now and we look forward to providing this kit, installation and custom tuning to Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZs looking for a performance increase.
What was a relatively stock FR-S was completely transformed with high performance upgrades including Garrett GTX28 turbo kit and supporting modifications. We installed the billet-wheel turbo kit and full exhaust system, as well as larger injectors, fuel pump, and an upgraded ACT clutch and flywheel package. With the right performance parts, this FR-S was ready to hit the dyno.
Using EcuTek, Hal managed 264whp on 93octane gas from the high compression FA20 engine. With E85 in the tank we increased boost to 13psi and dialed the tune in to 355whp on our Dyno Dynamics. On a Dynojet this would be 300WHP pump gas and 400WHP E85.
With the installation of a Greddy Turbo Kit on a 2013 Scion FR-S along with supporting mods and dyno tune, we were impressed to achieve 315WHP DynoDynamics, more than double the factory FR-S BRZ wheel-horsepower! The FRS was modified with high performance parts including a Greddy Turbo Kit, Tial blow off valve, Dynosty fuel upgrades (550cc injectors and pump), over pipe, front pipe, and Dynosty tune using EcuTek. The FR-S gas tank was drained of pump gas and filled with E85. Greddy uses a Mitsubishi turbocharger, which is perfectly matched to the FR-S BRZ FA20 engine for rapid spool and practically no lag. This combination helps the lack of power normally found at lower RPM, and is a great street-car turbo kit. See the Greddy FRS Turbo Kit low boost verse high boost comparison below. The Greddy kit utilizes an internal wastegate, so more boost would require modifications to the internal wastegate or upgrading to an external wastegate. This Scion FR-S Turbo Kit fits great, and installs on Subaru BRZ as well.

This built Toyota 86 (Scion FR-S in USA) is a great example of what the FR-S is capable of. The setup consists of a built 2.0L FA20 engine that houses CP Pistons, Pauter Rods and Dynosty head studs. Airflow is provided by a Garrett GTX3076 on an upgraded Full Blown turbo kit, and escapes through a Motiv Concepts over pipe, front pipe, and Greddy exhaust. The engine is controlled by a Haltech plug&play standalone ems for ignition and port injection control. Direct injection is retained and controlled by tuning through EcuTek. Hal was flown in to handle the dyno tuning portion on-site in Antigua, and ended with a turbo FR-S producing 370WHP Dynojet on pump gas, and 530WHP on VP race gas.
Congratulations to the hard-working team in Antigua on impressive dyno results, and thank you for your hospitality. Quite an impressive tuner car scene on the island, and beautiful place to visit. Once the bugs get worked out and sticky tires are installed, we expect to see this high performance FR-S fly down the track!

Dynosty is proud to release the first set of fuel rails for the FA20 engine in the Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ and Toyota 86. Effort was made to include the OEM fuel dampers to prevent fuel dead spots and tuning issues. Available in OEM returnless and return fuel styles, as well as an option to connect to the stock feed hardline. Available online at FRSMOD.com or call 502-384-8882. Stay tuned for more FRS BRZ fuel upgrades coming soon.
We had the opportunity to get the Turbo Scion FR-S to the 1/4 mile drag strip, and while we arrived later than anticipated, we were able to squeeze in 2 runs before they closed Lucas Oil Raceway for the season. The FR-S passed tech inspection and lined up in the lanes, as the announcer stated “No more vehicles to the lanes – this is the last pass of the night.” The first pass down the track yielded a 11.1 @ 127.9mph on a soft launch, setting the current world record for Quickest and Fastest FR-S / BRZ. On the return road the track official was kind enough to wave us into the lanes again considering we only had 1 run. The second pass backed up the 11.1 with an 11.2. There is a lot left in the car, and we hope to get to another track before they close for winter. Stay tuned for more!
